The Boston College Eagles is the name of the men's and women's basketball team at Boston College, in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, USA. To start the 2008-2009 ACC Season, the Eagles got a big win over the North Carolina Tar Heels in the Dean Dome 85-78, behind great play of Rice, Sanders, and the defense. They started the ACC season 1-0. However, that happiness ended with a loss to Harvard 82-70. They had 4 consecutive losses after that Carolina game including Miami FL, Wake Forest, and Virginia Tech. The slump ended with a win in overtime against Georgia Tech. Bc then got 3 more key ACC against NC State, Maryland, and Virginia Tech. In the Virginia Tech game, BC won by a put-back shot with less than a second to go to win the game. That made BC 17-6 and 5-3 in the ACC. After a win at Virginia, the Eagles improved to 18-6 overall, and 6-3 in the ACC, good enough to put them just a half game out of first place in the conference. The Eagles are currently on a two game losing streak, after losing halftime leads against No. 7 Wake Forest and No. 11 Clemson. On February 15th Boston College Defeated #6 Duke 80-74. It was their first win over the Blue Devils in 24 years. Tyrese Rice Scored his 2,000th career point to go along with his 21 points. They are now 19-8, 7-5 in conference play. |
