 The Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball program is the intercollegiate men's basketball program of the University of Kansas Jayhawks. The program is classified in the NCAA's Division I, and the team competes in the Big 12 Conference. One of the most storied programs in collegiate sports history, their first coach was the inventor of the game, James Naismith. In 2005, Street & Smith's Annual ranked Kansas fourth on a list of 100 greatest college basketball programs of all time and in 2008, ESPN ranked Kansas second on a list of the most prestigious programs of the modern college basketball era. In the last two decades, no team has won more games than the Jayhawks who won 568 games between the 1989-90 and 2008-09 seasons. |
